Scan Day

Today is scan day. Not sure I’m feeling any anxiety with it, partly because I’ve been in a little bit of discomfort over the last few days. My mind has been on managing the pain versus anything else. Scans were done early this morning and no issues taking them, now it is just a waiting game. Hopefully we hear something back by Monday, my next chemo day.

I ended up having to shoehorn in a blood transfusion this week since my numbers were again low. With it being Christmas week, I wasn’t sure if that was going to be possible, but the staff at my cancer clinic can work magic and they got me in first thing on yesterday. To say the blood transfusion went off with no issues would be lying. I don’t know what happened but towards the end of the transfusion, I started feeling pain all over my body, not a pleasant experience. Took most the night to calm itself down, but it took a lot out of me. Not sure if the pain was from just overall cancer treatment or the blood transfusion, but it sucked.

I also got immunotherapy yesterday after blood transfusion, so yes, it was a freaking long day. My body was for sure worn out and that might have been the catalyst to the pain I had. No issues with immunotherapy aside from being tired but I think that helped me sleep off the pain that evening.

Otherwise, today seems to be better, at least for right now. I’m up and walking around. It seems like I have a little more energy and I’m not so tired, so good things all around. Hoping it stays that way for today and the rest of the week since it’s Christmas week. Looking forward to the holidays but hoping my body cooperates and let’s me enjoy it.

Here’s to hoping for some good scan results and a relaxing, pain free holiday.

Until next time.
