My Cancer Journey Begins
Sharing the start of my battle with cancer, from diagnosis to initial treatments, and where we are at today.
September 5 – Worst Day of my Life
- GI Appointment that resulted in cancer diagnosis
- Stage 4 Gastric Cancer
- Immediate admission into Hospital
- Chemo Port Placed
September 16 – Abdominal Procedure
- Continue abdominal bloating
- Lots of fluid build up
- Catheter placed in abdomen to help relieve fluid pressure
September 22 – And it begins…
- Chemo Round 1 starts in the hospital
- Low RBC count so 1st time having a blood transfusion
October – More Chemo and Changes
- Chemo Round 2 and 3
- HER2 and PDL positive so started Round 1 of Immunotherapy
- RBC low again so 2nd round of blood transfusion
November – Happy Thanksgiving!
- More Chemo and Immunotherapy
- Chemo Round 4 and 5
- Round 2 of Immunotherapy
- Started WBC shots
- 3rd Round of Blood Transfusion
December – Happy Holidays
- Round 6 Chemo done. Round 7 and 8 of Chemo Planned
- Round 3 of Immunotherapy done. Round 4 Planned
- Another Round of Blood Transfusions
- 1st CT Scans since diagnosis scheduled for Dec 23
- Wishing for an XMAS miracle!
